13 Apr 1212 On the ABR upgrade (or downgrade)

“The ATO has advised ‘On 28 May 2012, the Australian Business Register (ABR) is being upgraded to a new system platform’.
The added function is an ASIC link, I would have thought any accountant would have that favourite, but a big effort adding a link. The function to maintain trading names is removed, that is handy, something else we will be unable to correct. I suppose we will have to write letters to be ignored to get things corrected/updated (they actually think State Business Names are going to properly update the ABN site!!!!) And then the good old ‘Function temporarily unavailable’ item of GST and PAYG function not on the ABN application.
And of course this all in the tone of helping Tax Agents; it will probably cost them a few hundred thousand for the 'upgrade' to help us.”
