"I received a Garnishee Notice for a client during the week. When I checked the ATO Portal, the only outstanding item was the July 2010 IAS (which was due and payable 21/8/2010) for $12,000!!! Hell, it has only been about 3 or 4 weeks overdue. When I rang the debt collection section of the ATO - the response was "that is part of our new debt collection policy". Gee, if that is your attitude, then you will have Garnishee Notices piled up so high it will fill the MCG!"
