"Every client I have got a letter for from the ATO advising that their income is too low is in their late fifties or sixties and winding down for retirement. Most have incomes which are two to three times the age pension.

If their income is too low to support personal living expenses, perhaps the ATO should concentrate on auditing age pensioners."
