07 May 10 On the Government's response to the Henry Review report

"It appears the Government is going to implement a few recommendations that will be paid for by the mining sector. Apart from inflaming old wounds regarding the two foes and pushing the mining sector offshore, Labor's initial indicated response does not amount to tax reform. I am vehemently opposed to 'super taxes' on any sector of the economy and I hold no bias regarding such as I am a SME practitioner with no allegiances to the mining sector. Make sure you indicate strongly to the community at large what has (or hasn't) happened here and that the cost of the few basic initiatives Labor supports are being fully funded by the mining sector. That is not fair politics and not good tax policy. Another waste of time and a Government lacking in any real conviction to do much and demonstrating its hatred towards a very important part of our economy."
