"We recently received a tax refund for a client. Refund is for circa $300, and comes as part of a Statement of Account of 4 pages. All those pointless pages simply tell us that the client is still $5,000 in credit. So when will this balance be refunded correctly?

Why should I waste my time clicking 'n clacking at the ATO pothole to request something that should be done automatically?

So that the client doesn't think this blocked refund is our fault, I've asked her to phone the ATO on 13 28 61 (between 8am and 6pm) and ask the ATO to "Please Explain". Also, to send the correct refund, immediately.

I would like all my clients to personally experience the phone delays, and endemic incompetence that pervades most of our dealings with the ATO. Might also help the clients appreciate what we do for them."
