The following tax agent associations have recently been recognised by the Tax Practitioners Board:
- the Financial Planning Association of Australia (date of accreditation: 21 March 2012)
- the Law Society of New South Wales (date of accreditation: 21 March 2012).
A recognised tax agent association is an organisation which has applied to the Board for recognition and which the Board has decided to recognise as an association.
The Tax Agent Services Act 2009 and the Tax Agent Services Regulations 2009 allow the Board to accredit professional associations for the purpose of recognising professional qualifications and experience to facilitate the registration of individuals as registered tax agents and BAS agents.
