15 Feb 2019 Regarding Member 18’s comments ‘ATO contacting businesses about overdue TPARs’

ATO response: 

We appreciate the important role that tax agents play in helping us assist their clients in meeting their obligations. 

As Member 18 states, whilst Taxable payments annual reports (TPARs) can be lodged via file transfer in the ATO portal or new Online services for agents, tax professionals are currently unable to access the TPAR lodgment history of their clients. 

We are committed to providing an improved digital taxable payments reporting system experience, and are currently updating our services to enable tax professionals to view the TPAR lodgment history of their clients in the new Online services for agents. 

We are working to have this service in place by mid-2019 to assist agents support their clients with 2019 TPAR reporting. 

We will also work with software developers to enable this functionality within your practice management software. 

While these improved services are being developed, we provide tax professionals every year with a list of their clients that may have a reporting obligation before the lodgment due date, and a list of clients who may have an outstanding TPAR after the lodgment due date.
