17 Dec 1010 Tax Practitioners Board Consultative Forum
Tax Counsel Deepti Paton ATIA attended the Tax Practitioners Board Consultative Forum on Monday 13 December. At this Forum the group discussed the interaction between ATO concessions for tax and BAS agents and the Board's oversight and compliance functions.
The Board also gave attendees an update on:
- Registration volumes and turnover time in respect of the processing of new applications
- The release of information papers on various educational courses that may need to be fulfilled prior to registration
- The development of the Board's policy in respect of continuing professional education
The group also discussed the degree of guidance which the Board should issue in relation to the requirement to obtain professional indemnity insurance, as well as other topics of relevance.
