Increased 2FA measures to increase online security for TPB members

From 24 September 2020, the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) will be introducing additional Two Factor Authentication (2FA) measures to improve security.

After this date, you will be taken through a 2FA process every time you login to My Profile.

It’s therefore important to ensure your contact details, including your email address and mobile number are up to date with the TPB. Visit My Profile to check or update your details.

Maintaining registration reminder

The TPB has issued a reminder that while its COVID-19 concession exempts members from lodging their annual declaration, if it’s due on or before 31 December 2020, members are still required to meet the ongoing obligations to maintain their tax agent, BAS agent or tax (financial) adviser registration.

Members still need to:

  • Maintain professional indemnity (PI) insurance;
  • Undertake continuing professional education (CPE);
  • Satisfy fit and proper requirements; and
  • Comply with the Code of Professional Conduct (Code), including maintaining your personal tax obligations.
