24 May 13 The Tax Institute in the Media

On 21 May The Tax Institute was quoted in two separate articles in the Australian Financial Review: ‘Abbott urged to look at big picture on GST future’, regarding GST and tax reform and ‘Business urge coalition to consult on tax’, regarding business tax measures in the 2013-14 Budget.

Also on 21 May The Tax Institute was interviewed on ABC TV's The Business program regarding multinational tax issues.  We were also quoted in The Australian and News Limited tabloids nationally via AAP with regards to the GST and tax reform: ‘Tax review must include GST: Tax Institute’.

The Tax Institute issued two press releases on 22 May, both receiving media attention with interviews on Sky Business TV with regards to GST and a mature debate on tax reform and ABC Radio with regards to the ‘Shadow Treasurer’s speech and his focus on Tax Administration’.

The media releases of 22 May are: 'GST: Time for a mature political debate'; and 'Coalition Focus on Tax Administration Welcome'

On 23 May The Tax Institute was extensively quoted in both the Australian Financial Review: ‘Hockey’s planned ATO shake-up builds on existing moves’ and the Australian: ‘Liberals promise voters the power to take on taxman’ and ‘Treasury rings alarm on surplus’ with respect to the Coalition's tax administration plans (and tax cuts).

The Tax Institute was also quoted on 23 May in the BRW: ‘Abbott makes pitch to small business with promise to cut red tape by $1bn’ in regards to the Coalition’s tax white paper.
