Lead author, Bernie O'Sullivan has almost 30 years experience in succession planning and taxation.
He started out working for a trustee company in Adelaide where he advised on wills, trusts and taxation matters. He moved to Sydney and established the Sydney office of the company and then left to join the Trustee Corporations Association of Australia ( the industry body for trustee companies) as a research manager, where he was responsible for its personal trusts, taxation and superannuation committees.
Since 1997 he has worked as a lawyer with well-known industry practitioners such as John Young (ex Taxation Institute chair, Victoria), Greg May (ex The Tax Institute chair, South Australia) and at Mallesons , before joining Maddocks as a partner practicing in funds management, superannuation and private client services. He is now Principal at Bernie O'Sullivan Lawyers.
His succession planning clients include trustee companies and accounting firms as well as some of Australia's wealthiest individuals and family groups.
