Regulation of the tax profession - What you need to know

Published on 20 Mar 2014 | Took place at Swissotel, Sydney, NSW

Do you sign tax returns or BAS statements as an agent?

Do you give tax advice?

The provision of these types of taxation services is now subject to regulation. There have also been developments relevant to the provision of taxation advice in common law. Falling foul of these rules can put you and your clients at risk.

This half day event was relevant for all tax practitioners. It equips you with the information you need to protect and grow your practice. Participants heard directly from the new regulator of tax agents and also learnt about developments in case law that are relevant to the provision of all tax advice.

A panel of experts then led a discussion about the impact of these changes and what systems and processes can be implemented in your practice to comply.
