Budget and other major changes to State and Territory tax legislation over the past year seminar paper

This seminar paper addresses topical issues of concern raised by some industry representatives and commentators surrounding the states' and territories' obligations under the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Reform of Commonwealth-State Financial Relations. It then provides a summary of state and territory taxation changes since 1 July 2002.

Simon MCKEE
Simon is the Director of Legislative Services in the South Australian Revenue Office. Simon has approximately 20 years experience in Government at Commonwealth and State levels, the last seven years being with RevenueSA in the legislation, policy and compliance areas. Simon manages RevenueSA's legislative program, objections and appeals processes, and external and internal legal and technical advice, including advice on corporate reconstructions.
