Liability of tax advisors paper

In an increasingly litigious society, professionals are increasingly becoming at risk of allegations of liability. It is essential that tax advisers be aware of the main sources of liability to manage their exposure to risk. This paper surveys the sources of liability for tax advisers, and in particular tax accountants and tax lawyers.

Cal acts as a litigation consultant to a number of Perth law firms. Cal’s practice is predominantly in the areas of general commercial and civil litigation. It includes significant experience in the areas of contractual disputes, building and construction, appeals, arbitration and mediation, insurance, negligence, personal injury, departmental prosecutions and trade practices litigation. Cal, who is a qualified arbitrator, completed Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Major) degrees at Murdoch University in 1994.
