This paper outlines the changes announced in the Federal Budget of 2006 which may have an effect on current salary packaging arrangements, what that impact will actually be, and what types of benefits are still worth considering when implementing or renegotiating a salary packaging agreement. Emerging trends in salary packaging are also examined.
Sarah joined the PricewaterhouseCoopers Tax Consulting practice in 1998, is a manager in the Employment Taxes group, and a qualified CA. Sarah has extensive experience in advising and assisting clients with their employment tax-related matters, including FBT compliance and advice, the presentation of related seminars and employee information sessions. She also provides advice on a variety of other employment related matters including employee and contractor issues, salary packaging, PAYG withholding, payroll tax, Workcover, superannuation guarantee and termination/redundancy payments.
