The issue of valuations is a major one. This paper focusses on the following:
- valuing intellectual property, trademarks, etc.
- assessing the land value component in resource related assets
- separating name, site and personal goodwill
- the (ir)relevance of rules of thumb.
Wayne Lonergan was a Corporate Finance Partner at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) for 23 years, prior to
setting up an independent valuation practice on 1 January 2001. He has had over 35 years experience in Corporate Finance and Valuations.
