The new entity taxation regime is a reality. Now is the time to do something about it. The Entity Taxation Regime measures that were released as an Exposure Draft on 11 October 2000 will reform the face of Australian tax in a fundamental way forever from 1 July 2001. Don't delay action because these measures are in an Exposure Draft. Gordon Cooper, Director, Greenwoods & Freehills sets out crucial aspects of these measures from which you will be able to identify what has to be done to be ready for this new tax regime. Their scope of application is wider than you think! Powerpoint presentation.
Gordon is a Chartered Accountant in sole practice at Cooper & Co. He is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Taxation and Business Law (incorporating the Australian School of Taxation) at the University of New South Wales. In June 2003, he was awarded an AM in the Queen’s birthday honours for “Services to the tax profession and to the community as an adviser on national taxation and legislative reform, and through education and professional organisations”. Together with Chris Evans and Kirk Wilson, he is an author of the Australian CGT Handbook, now in its seventh edition.
