In August 1998, the Government announced a number of Tax Reform measures. One of those measures was a new system for the collection of income tax - the PAYG system. While the new system may be fine in theory, the practical application is sometimes difficult. The purpose of this powerpoint presentation is to provide practical examples of how the PAYG system will work and highlight those areas where we are still waiting for clarification.
Tim Sandow, CTA, is the Partner in Charge of Tax at KPMG in Adelaide and has 20 years experience providing tax advice to a variety of private and large public companies as well as individuals.
