Workers compensation premiums can be a significant cost of doing business. Based on our evaluation surveys it is a topic that is causing many problems for advisers and their clients. This presentation focusses on some of the more complex and uncertain issues that we have identified. Specific issues discussed include:
- deemed workers
- what is a contractor?
- documentation for employers and principals
- related corporations
- impact on premium
- split rating
- recent and future changes
- changes to the scheme introduced in June 2005
- proposed changes for the next 12 months.
