Tax education: Practical training conducive to learning

In Advanced Tax candidates are taught to interview clients; develop a personal presence; handle issues on the fly (as required in practice); and collaborate with other professionals to derive solutions. After completion of the Advanced Tax course, the rigorous examination process proves they have the skills so critical to tax advisory work.

Ruth is the General Manager of Education and is responsible for the Events and Education Division of the Institute. She holds a Master of Adult Education and Training (UTS 1999) and a Master of Business (UTS 2005). Prior to joining the Taxation Institute of Australia in March 2005, Ruth's previous experience spanned educational roles in other membership organisations in the finance, investment, accounting and financial planning sectors. Since joining the Taxation Institute Ruth has overseen the development and implementation of the Institute's Structured Education Program.
