Objections to assessments: apply the KISS principle.

Publication date: 23 Sep 05 | Source: WEEKLY TAX BULLETIN

Issue: No 37 2 September 2005

Pages: pp. 1441-1443

Abstract:

The Tax Office has updated its guide "How to Prepare and Lodge and Objection". The new guide can be accessed on the ATO Website http://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/content.asp?doc=/content/63334.htm

It purports to tell taxpayers how to prepare and lodge an objection - but the Tax Office asks for more than the law requires (although as a practical matter, there is good reson for this).
