For Affiliate members looking to upgrade their membership. To upgrade your membership, please get in touch with our team.

Note that there is a fee associated with upgrading your membership from non-voting to voting.

For Associate, Fellow or CTA members looking to transition membership to another tier. To transition your membership, please get in touch with our team.

To enable retiring professionals an opportunity to remain engaged with the Institute and the profession we provide retired membership. To apply for retired membership you must meet the following criteria:

  • have been a member for the preceding 5 years
  • have reached the age of 55 years
  • are no longer in public practice or full-time employment
  • your income from personal exertion that does not exceed $30,000 per annum.

To apply for retired membership please download the Retired Membership Application Form and return it to The Tax Institute on the details provided on the form.

You can defer your membership for a maximum of two years for a fee of $130 per annum. Deferring your membership allows you to maintain your status and renew your membership once your situation changes.
