On 16 March 2026, the Tax Ombudsman commenced consultation on its review into the ATO’s Online Services for Agents (OSfA).

Submissions are due by 10 April 2026. We are currently seeking feedback from members on your views on online services for agents. On 17 March 2026, the Treasury released for consultation an exposure draft of the Income Tax Assessment (1997 Act) Amendment (Building a Stronger and Fairer Super System and Other Measures) Regulations 2026 (the draft Regulations), alongside accompanying draft explanatory materials.

On 1 February 2026, the Board of Taxation commenced its statutory review into the recent changes to Australia’s thin capitalisation rules. While the Board of Taxation will run a public consultation process to inform its final report, this is not yet open.
