I am a/n Associate, Fellow or CTA member looking to transition my membership.

We are renowned for setting the standard for tax professionals in Australia and as such we offer four levels of member grades, each with differing requirements to showcase experience and commitment to continuing professional development. Some of the reasons you may wish to upgrade or transition your membership are:

  • Change to voting member status
  • Distinguish yourself in the industry
  • Gain an internationally recognised designation as a Chartered Tax Adviser
  • Change your CPD commitments
  • Your circumstances have changed

Retired membership

To enable retiring professionals an opportunity to remain engaged with the Institute and the profession we provide retired membership. To apply for retired membership you must meet the following criteria:

  • have been a member for the preceding 10 years
  • have reached the age of 55 years
  • are no longer in public practice or full-time employment
  • your income from personal exertion that does not exceed $10,000 per annum.

Member deferral and resignation

You can defer your membership for a maximum of two years for a fee of $99 per annum. Deferring your membership allows you to maintain your status and renew your membership once your situation changes.
