The Taxation Institute of Australia is pleased to announce today that the Taxation Institute’s Applied Tax course has been recognised for exemption by the Australian School of Taxation (Atax) at the University of New South Wales.

The agreement between Atax and the Taxation Institute means that 6 units of credit will be granted for Applied Tax graduates in one of the following postgraduate taxation programs offered by Atax:

  • Graduate Diploma in Advanced Taxation; or
  • Master of Taxation; or
  • Master of International Taxation.

This agreement follows the January announcement of the Applied Tax exemption for the Tax Module of the Graduate Diploma in Chartered Accounting meaning that graduates of the Taxation Institute of Australia will now enjoy increased flexibility in their choice of articulation for their post graduate tax education.

The Applied Tax course is the intermediary level 2 course of the Structured Education Program focusing on complex compliance issues and designed for tax professionals with a minimum of two years of experience.

Since its launch in 2006, the Taxation Institute’s Structured Education Program has continued to grow and develop into what is considered to be one of the best tax education programs available for tax professionals.

Employers acknowledge that all three courses of the Structured Education program build skills of immediate use in the workplace and deliver increased productivity.
