Plan your team's bespoke path

To complete Step 1 and progress, staff need to successfully complete the below 14 Tax Academy microcredential units at the Professional level:

A team member may be able to skip certain Professional level units if they:

have completed CTA1 Foundations within the last 10 years; or
hold an exemption from CTA1 Foundations by having completed an approved undergraduate subject in Australian tax from university in the last 10 years; or
have completed CACC1503 in the Diploma of Chartered Accounting within the last 10 years; or
have only completed the Taxation module of the CPA program within the last 10 years.

To complete step 2 and progress, staff need to successfully complete:

5 core Professional level units

6 Advanced level units

To complete step 3 and progress, staff need to successfully complete:

5 core Professional level units

9 Advanced level units

The completion of the last step:

Staff will need to enrol and successfully complete CTA3 Advisory subject with The Tax Insititute Higher Education.

To do that, they must have a minimum of three years of relevant tax experience, plus one of the following:

Successful completion of CTA1 Foundations, CTA2A Advanced and CTA2B Advanced (or recognised equivalent qualifications);
A Master of Tax, or an Institute-recognised equivalent Master’s qualification;
A Graduate Diploma from an accredited provider (may be considered equivalent).
