TIA submission: CGT assets register; TOFA issues

This article summaries 2 TIA submissions. The first is on the proposal for use of assets registers for taxpayers to record details of their assets for CGT purposes is a worthwhile initiative. However the TIA believes that there are a number of matters raised that cause concern, as discussed here. The second submission, a joint submission, is in response to the Issues Paper on the Taxation of Financial Arrangements released in December 1996.
