Course in Australian Taxation Law
Do you want to register as a tax agent?
The Course in Australian Taxation Law, approved by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) as a suitable course in Australian taxation law, is based on the successful completion of the CTA1 Foundations and CTA2 Advanced courses.
Do you want to establish your career in tax?
CTA1 Foundations is the essential course for anyone starting out in their career, including recent graduate accountants, cadets, bookkeepers, and overseas professionals wanting to gain the necessary skills to complete common Australian tax compliance tasks.
Do you want to stake your claim in the tax profession?
CTA2 Advanced is the ideal course for those with at least 12 months' tax experience, or if you have a background in accounting or law and wish to specialise in tax. The course provides tax professionals with the skills to manage complex tax affairs and planning issues.
Do you want to take the next step and become a technical expert in your field?
CTA3 Advisory is designed for tax professionals with at least three years’ tax experience. The course will develop their tax planning and advisory skills across the different tax specialisations by immersing them in the complex tax case studies on which the CTA3 Advisory Exam is based.

CTA3 Advisory Exam is the pathway to the global designation and ensures that industry leaders seeking Chartered Tax Adviser status can demonstrate the highest levels of professional tax skills, quality advice and acute commercial skills.
Do you want to register as a tax agent?
The Course in Commercial Law, approved by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) as a suitable course in commercial law, consists of three stand-alone units: CommLaw1 – Australian Legal Systems, CommLaw2 – Entities & Business Structures and CommLaw3 – Property Law.
