You’ll engage with respected practitioners, regulators and thought leaders who will share their insights on the challenges now affecting the tax profession – issues such as technological innovation, digital disruption, the sharing economy, globalisation, increased compliance requirements, MAAL, SMSF audit risks and other matters attracting the Tax Commissioner’s attention.

In addition, the Convention Dinner at the iconic Adelaide Oval will feature the annual Tax Adviser of the Year Awards presentations.

The Tax Institute’s 32nd National Convention will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Adelaide conveniently located in the heart of the city centre and nestled within the beauty of the Riverbank Precinct, surrounded by parklands and the River Torrens.

Close proximity to the entertainment, cultural and sporting precincts, the Centre is a short walk to international and boutique hotels and accommodation. Public transport, the Adelaide Railway Station and a taxi ramp are on the Centre’s doorstep. The international airport is just seven kilometres from the Centre, making a quick and economic taxi ride.

Gala Dinner & Tax Adviser of the Year Awards | Thursday 16 March

As the only national gathering of The Tax Institute’s membership, their staff and clients, the Gala Dinner is always a highlight of the National Convention.

With the new option of hosted Tables of 10, the signature networking event of The Tax Institute will reach new heights with a black tie dress standard providing attendees with the chance to dress up and enjoy some of Adelaide’s best cuisine in one of its most iconic venues.

The highlight of the event is the Tax Adviser of the Year Award Ceremony, which recognises the outstanding achievements of the best tax practitioners in Australia, from rising stars to industry leaders. The awards will honour those individuals who are making their mark in the profession and reward them with a valuable opportunity to recognise their excellence in tax and be acknowledged by their colleagues and peers. The awards will be presented in the following categories:

The Tax Institute CPD Event App

The Tax Institute understands the impact that an event of this nature has on the environment, especially when printing delegate materials. We are excited to announce that The Tax Institute has launched a fantastic new event app. This app is easy to use and contains program information, materials (technical papers and slides), evaluation forms and more.
